About pursuit

Pursuit Volleyball Club  USAV Traveling teams consist of the top players in the Region and compete at the highest levels.  We are a part of the St. Louis Gateway Region and our Elite and National teams compete against the best programs in the country at National Qualifiers.  We pride ourselves in creating the strongeast tournament schedule possible for each team to increase the speed of our game. Our mission is to field 2+ teams in each age division with the top 20(30) athletes in the area to build National, Elite and Regional Teams.

Diggers Boys & Girls  Regional Team program for 4th- 5th- 6th graders who are serious about volleyball. This is THE BEST progression for young athletes in Southeast Missouri.  Pursuit Diggers play in local USAV Tournaments and compete in the 5th/6th grade Division of SMASH Select. 

Pursuit Power Program:  Training program for 6th & 7th graders held each fall. This program prepares atheltes for the speed of the game leading into October Tryouts. 

Pursuit Peanuts Program:  Boys & Girls training program for incoming 3rd - 5th graders held each summer.

Pursuit Small Fries Program:  Boys and Girls training program for incoming 1st - 3rd graders held each summer.

Boys Training Program: Boys Training program for guys held each summer for incoming 5th - 10th graders.

Pursuit Beach: The summer of 2020 was our inaugural Pursuit Beach Season with doubles/ 4's teams competing in St. Louis events. 

Coed Sand League: Power 4's Division and Intermediate 6's Division offered on Sundays 18 and under.  Coach Erika Newell leads the way as our Beach Director with League and Tournaments. 

Skill Clinics are offered during the summer and throughout the school year.  Clinics include specific skill sessions and focus on footwork, fundamentals, and quality repetitions. 

Tryout Prep Clinics are open for all athletes interested in trying out for Pursuit.  Our goal is to provide the opportunity for athletes to gain confidence going into the tryout process.  We will run similar drills and format as we will at tryouts and athletes will know what to expect. 

Camps  are open to any school, club or affiliation.  Camps are often multi-skill orientated in a competitive environment. 

Trainings are opportunities for our Pursuit athletes to get extra reps, footwork, feedback and coaching.  Trainings are free and have a registration link so we know how many nets to reserve and assistants to hire.

Private Pursuit Lessons Privates can be coordinated with any coach on our staff.  See the Coaching Staff tab for coach biographies and emails. 

PURSUIT USAV Policy: Any junior USAV member, or current rostered athlete on an opposing Gateway Region club may not participate in Pursuit Clinics, Programs, Trainings or Private Lessons hosted by Pursuit Volleyball Academy Staff.  Clinics will remain OPEN TO THE PUBLIC, however, members of other USAV rostered clubs or teams are ineligible to participate.  We do not have the resources to train players from other teams, as we need to keep as many opportunities open for our current Pursuit athletes.  Camps and Open Play dates will remain open to any athlete regardless of club affiliation.  Waivers and exceptions may be granted by the Club Director based on circumstances, need and  hardship.

Our #1 Priority as a program is to ensure each athlete has a positive experience with Pursuit.

PURSUIT focuses on intentional skill development, footwork, and fundamentals.  We believe in the master coach philosophy which emphasizes technical consistency from our Little Diggers to our 18’s

Our staff understands the importance of meaningful and quality repetitions with continuous positive feedback.  Our goal is to help EVERY athlete improve, gain confidence, compete at a higher level and always provide a good experience.  We hire the best coaches who are knowledgeable, caring and always expressing their own love for the sport of volleyball.
